The best accommodation in our 2 weeks trip in India. Staying at this hotel was a wonderful experience. The value for money was excellent, we even got a better room that the one we had booked. They allowed us to change our second breakfast to the first morning as we arrived extremely early in Udaipur, and they allowed us to do a free early check-in as well. Delicious breakfast with extensive variety of foods. Fantastic dinner in the rooftop restaurant. Clean room and comfy bed. Friendly staff. Free water. A very luxurious environment with some of the best views over Lake Pichola and exquisite architecture. They organised our night taxi from Jaipur with very fair price too.

Celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary in a beautiful pichola lake view suite for 5 nights was spectacular. Having had holidays in 96 different countries and at least 500+ different hotel rooms, the cavernous Maharaja was definitely the most blingy with cut pieces of mirror covering all the ceilings and detailed murals covering the walls made our room very special. Expensive at £300 per room per night, but good value compared to say the Taj Palace at £500 per night. The rooftop restaurant with uninterrupted lake and palace views served very good food at reasonable prices and was ideal for a memorable romantic St Valentines evening meal !

We especially loved the roof terrace which offered great view to the lake and we could enjoy the moment of serenity at sunrise and sunset when the hotel got less busy without the outside guests. Our first dinner at Udaipur on the roof terrace of Jagat Niwas Palace is still the best and most memorable dining experience that we had at Udaipur. Our stay at Jagat Niwas Palace is one of the best highlights during our visit to Udaipur.

This hotel is a heritage haveli. It’s situated perfectly on Lake Pichola. The view is amazing and you feel transported back to the times when Rajas ruled over the land. The staff is amazing. Breakfast is accompanied by a santoor which has an old world sound that touches your soul and makes your morning chai even more palatable if that’s even possible! Make sure to go to the rooftop for an epic view of all the lights in the evening.

Breakfast and lunch downstairs and each dinner up on the terrace with the incredible view of Lake Pichola.
